As we're working through the upcoming 3rd edition of The New Leader's 100-Day Action Plan, we're challenging ourselves on what new leaders control vs influence.
New leaders should take control of their first day, and lead the way with communication. The free-flow of communication across all the new media means they leaders not control everything that anyone says and does. (Not that they ever really could do this.) What's important is to lead with a core message and use that to influence all the players.
