A lady drowned on a crowded beach at the end of Long Island a couple of weeks ago. Everybody that was on the beach at the time will remember the incident forever. Some of the people on the beach noticed she was in trouble and went out to help her. But no one noticed in time.
Far too many people don't see the ripcurrents running through the waters in their new organizations. Far too few people point those dangers out to the newcomers in time for them to avoid doing significant damage.
Don't do that. If you're new, know that you won't understand the currents. If you're helping someone who is in a new job or a new role, be the one that points out the dangers before your new person gets in trouble.
