Those of you relying on this blog for your news can rest easy. Harvard came from behind 10-0 in the final six minutes of The Game yesterday to beat Yale 14-10. Harvard scored and then made a strong defensive stand that left Yale with 4th down and 22 yards to go on their own 26 yard line with two minutes left. Yale tried a fake punt, gaining 18 yards on the play. Too little, too late. As the fans’ T-shirts read, Yale became Fale.
Yale did not need a fake punt. They were ahead. They had the Ivy League’s best punter. Their defense had done an excellent job all day. Their chances of winning were greater if they continued doing what they had been doing.
This is why early wins in onboarding are so important – they get teams ahead early on so they can play the game the way they want to and not need desperate efforts later on. So, put some early wins on the board. Play your game. Be the Harvard of your world, not the Faled.
