One organization pushed very hard to close the sale with a reluctant candidate who met all their criteria for success. The candidate was willing, but her spouse thought it was going to be hard for him to find work in the organization’s geography. The candidate did accept the job, but left a year later when her spouse did not find work and she was forced to choose between her job and her marriage.
Issue
The issue is pushing to close a sale that may not be right for all parties involved.
Suggestion
Our suggestion is to think about these as strategic sales, making sure all parties’ needs are met before moving forward – and walking away if they are not.
