Are you a swimmer, runner, or skater?  Their different handoffs have different impacts.

Swimmers pass in the night with no impact

Standing start.  Wall touch.  The next swimmer is on his or her own, with absolutely no help from the previous swimmer.

Runners coordinate their actions

The new runner gets a head start so he or she is moving when the previous runner makes the handoff, putting the baton in his or her outstretched hand.

Skaters provide a helpful push

The short track speed skating handoff is a push that transfers momentum.

Different levels of help

What's your approach to onboarding or delegating? Leaving them on their own after a standing start?  Making sure they get a head start and have the resources they need?  Actively pushing them forward?
