What is employee onboarding?
The process of acquiring, accommodating, assimilating and accelerating new people into an organization or team. Or, in English, attracting and selecting the right people, convincing them to join, making it so they can do work on their own and with others, and then giving the resources and support they need to be successful.
Why does onboarding matter?
Leadership turnover continues to be a big problem. As leading executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles’ CEO Kevin Kelly, was quoted in the Financial Times, March 30, 2009 discussing the firm’s internal study of 20,000 searches,
